MD2401 Available Options
Various options are available for the MD2401 L-Band Multi Demod:
1.2.1 Reed-Solomon Codec
The MD2401 is equipped with an Intelsat Reed-Solomon Outer Codec with an interleaver as an
optional enhancement for applications requiring Bit Error Rates (BER) of 10
-10
. The encoder and
decoder are completely independent and meet the IESS-308/309 Specification.
1.2.2 Turbo Codec
The MD2401 is equipped with an optional Turbo Product Code (TPC) Codec. TPC Codes include
0.495 and 0.793, 21/44, 1/2, 3/4 and 7/8 Rate.
1.2.3 8PSK (Optional)
The MD2401 offers in addition to the standard B/O/QPSK waveforms an 8PSK optional high
order waveform capable of either Trellis 2/3 or any TPC 0.495, TPC0.793, TPC 3/4 and TPC 7/8
when purchased with the Turbo option.

Ethernet Data Interface (Optional)
The MD2401 Ethernet data interface offers 10/100/1000 Base-T plug and play capability. All
incoming data from each Demodulator is transported out a single RJ45 port. Just plug your LAN
into the RJ45 port and the modem is up and running. With the Ethernet interface, automatically
learning, Aging and embedded Quality of Service make this modem the ideal choice.
