7-3. Data Download Procedure
To download recorded data files from the ADV6600 to a computer:
12. Connect the ADV6600 to a computer.
13. Launch the ADVantage 6600 Software for Windows.
14. Choose Connect to System. Verify the COM setting and Baud Rate. Click on Connect.
15. Select Recorder from the Tools and Utilities list (or choose it from the System menu).
The Recorder window as shown above will appear.
16. Select the file(s) you wish to download by highlighting one file or hold Control or Shift
and click a series of files to select more than one file, or Select All to download all files on
the ADV6600 recorder.
17. Set the download Baud rate. The Recorder portion of the ADVantage 6600 software uses
a higher rate to download files (compared to the rate used for standard system
communication). The default download baud rate is 57600. High baud rates should only be
used with high-quality, relatively short cables (e.g., less than 50 m) such as the cables
normally supplied with ADV6600. If you have trouble downloading data, try using a
slower download baud rate.
18. Select the Destination Folder on the computer where the data files are to be stored.
19. Click on Download.
20. Watch the status area at the bottom of the dialog box to view the download progress.
21. When the file(s) have completed uploading, you may wish to Format your recorder, or
select Close to exit the recorder window without deleting the files from the recorder.
