Electric Clutch Operation
The YP3010HDP/20P/25 planter has drive system
clutches, which enable or disable row unit meter drive:
• (standard) an electric clutch for each planter section
(left wing, center, tight wing; 3 clutches total), or
• (Swath Command™ option) a pneumatic clutch for
each row, or, on twin row, for each row pair.
Switches on the CFM provide control of clutches for the
entire planter, or for each planter section. This control is
in addition to that provided by the lift switch (all rows
on/off), and the Swath Command™ option (arbitrary sets
of clutches on/off).
The switches Left
/ Center
/ Right
correspond to
the left wing row units, center section row units and right
wing row units respectively.
The Master
switch controls all row units, regardless of
drive type. For all switches, “OFF” (down) removes power
from (or applies air to) the clutch, disengaging that set of
row units. When any switch (plus Master) is ON, the LED
for that switch illuminates steadily.
The information in the table at right is normally preset at
the factory for your planter configuration.
Clutch Overrides
In the event of clutch problems, the systems are
designed to act as follows:
• Electric (section) clutches disengage on loss of power.
• Pneumatic (row) clutches engage on loss of air pres-
sure.
To continue planting until a problem can be corrected,
take these steps:
• Electric clutch (standard):
Lock-up bolts are provided to engage them in the
event of power loss or clutch slippage. See page 47 for
lock-up instructions.
• Pneumatic clutch (Swath Command™):
Other than troubleshooting, no action is required at the
clutch. Pinch off any leaking hoses to prevent pressure
loss at other rows.
