Step 2: Remove the
Protective Covers from the
Drive
To remove the protective covers, you must first move the control frame and then
remove the air flow plate.
1. Loosen the T8 hexalobular screws that hold the control frame to the drive
enclosure (remove screws on early frame 10 drives).
2. Swing the control frame out and away from the power structure.
Frame 10 drives, from early production runs, have
holes instead of slots for these screws. You must
completely remove the screws from these drives in
order to move the control frame.
