Troubleshooting the Drive
This chapter provides information to guide you in troubleshooting the drive. Included
is a list and description of drive faults and problems that may occur.
4.1
How To Clear a Fault
When a fault occurs, the cause must be corrected before the fault can be cleared.
After corrective action has been taken, any of the following actions will clear the fault.
•
Press Stop on the keypad
•
Reset the drive via a digital input that is programmed to setting18 {RS}.
•
Cycle power to the drive

Table 4.1 lists drive faults and corrective actions.

ATTENTION: If a fault is cleared while there is a valid run command, the
drive will run as soon as the fault is cleared without cycling the input.
Failure to observe this precaution could result in bodily injury.

decelerating.
Check for a short circuit at the drive output or
for excessive load conditions at the motor.

Overcurrent
during
acceleration
An overcurrent has been
detected in the hardware trip
circuit while the drive was
accelerating.
Check a short circuit at the drive output,
excessive load conditions at the motor, an
acceleration time that is too short, or for a
manual boost setting that is improperly set.
E04
Overcurrent at a
standstill
An overcurrent has been
detected in the hardware trip
circuit while the drive was at
a standstill.
Check the output lines or the motor for a
ground fault.
