You get the message ILLEGAL FILENAME when you try to save a document on a disk.

Filename refers to the name of your document. An illegal file name is a name that doesn't
conform to the rules for naming files.

Different applications have different requirements, but you can't go wrong if
your filename starts with a letter, has fewer than 15 characters, and doesn't have any spaces
or punctuation marks other than periods.

You get the message DISK WRITE PROTECTED when you try to save a document on a disk.

When a disk is write-protected, it means you can't make any changes to it.

If you write-protected the disk, you can unwrite-protect it by removing the write-protect tab
from the write-enable notch (if it's a 5.25-inch disk) or by sliding the write-protect cover
from the write-enable notch (if it's a 3.5-inch disk). If the manufacturer write-protected the
disk, there was probably a
good reason for it, and you should consider using a different disk.

You get the message DUPLICATE FILENAME when you try to save a document on a disk.

You tried to use a name you've already used on that disk.

If you're saving a revised version of a document and you gave it the same name intentionally,
confirm that that's what you want to do. If you duplicated a
document name by mistake, give the document a different name and repeat the
save procedure.

You get the message DRIVE TOO FAST.

Your disk drive speed is too fast.

Have it adjusted by your authorized Apple dealer.

You get the message DRIVE TOO SLOW.

Your disk drive speed is too slow.

Have it adjusted by your authorized Apple dealer.

Trouble Printing

Unintentional double or triple spacing.

An extra line feed is being inserted by the application, the Control Panel Program, or the
printer.
