System storage
View the amount of your phone’s internal memory available for
use. Your phone contains 2GB of internal memory.
Note: This setting cannot be configured.
Ⅲ From the Settings menu, touch SD card & phone storage.
Under System storage, view Available space.
Language and keyboard
Language settings
Select language
Set the language used by your phone’s screens.
1. From the Settings menu, touch Language and keyboard.
2. Touch Select language.
3. Select a language from the list.
Keyboard settings
Configure text entry options to your preferences.
Select input method
Select the default on-screen keypad that displays when you
touch a text entry field.
1. From the Settings menu, touch Language and keyboard ➔
Select input method.
2. Select Samsung keypad (Samsung keypad is the default),
or Swype.
Note: For details about using these on-screen keypads, see
“Entering Text” on page 52.
Swype
Configure Swype settings. Swype is a new way to enter text by
gliding your finger over the characters on the on-screen
keyboard. (For more information, see “Using the Swype
Keyboard” on page 55.)
1. From the Settings menu, touch Language and keyboard.
2. Touch Swype (Swype settings) to access the following
options (Touch items to enable or disable the setting. When
enabled, a check mark displays in the check box.):
• Select Input Method: Switch between keyboards.
• How to Swype: Learn Swype through quick, easy-to-use steps.
• Personal dictionary: Manage your personal dictionary.
• Preferences:
– Audio feedback: When enabled, plays sounds as you enter text.
– Vibrate on keypress: When enabled, the phone vibrates for each key
press.
– Show tips: View helpful tips from Swype.
