Multiple Repeater Setup

Multiple Repeater Setup

Multiple repeaters can also be set up in various locations around the Base Station to repeat signals from the same Base Station.
In this scenario both repeaters can receive correction signals from the Base Station, but they cannot communicate with each
other. In this case, an obstacle may block part of the path of the Base Station signal in more than one direction. A repeater can
be set up on both sides of the obstacle and the RTK correction signal scan be transmitted around those obstacles. One repeater
must be set up as repeater 1 and the other as Repeater 2 from the factory or by your AutoSteer dealer.

A5 Repeater

The A5 Repeater will allow Multiple Repeaters connections to one Base Station. One Repeater must be configured as Repeater
1 and the other configured as Repeater 2. The Repeaters themselves should be positioned so they cannot see each other
otherwise the radio signals could be confused.

AFLink Repeaters

The AFLink Repeater will also allow Multiple Repeaters connections to one Base Station. One Repeater must be configured as
Repeater 1 and the other configured as Repeater 2. The Repeaters themselves should be positioned so they cannot see each
other otherwise the radio signals could be confused.

Figure 6-3 shows a possible configuration where more than one repeater is transmitting correction signals from the same Base
Station.

The shaded area labeled (1) indicates the intersection of coverage by the Base Station (B), Repeater 1 (R1), and Repeater
2 (R2).

The shaded area labeled (2) indicates an overlap of coverage by the Base Station overlaps at least one of the repeaters.

The shaded area labeled (3) indicates coverage by the Base Station only.

The shaded area labeled (4) indicates an overlap of coverage by Repeater 1 and Repeater 2.

The shaded area labeled (5) indicates coverage from either Repeater 1 or Repeater 2 only.

The shaded area labeled (6) indicates no coverage (or the correction signals are outside the Base Station’s 6 mile (9.7 km)
range).
