NOTE:
To run these utilities from a command line using Windows Server®, you must either
change directories to the directory that contains them (by default, C:\Program Files\HP
IO Accelerator\Utils) or add that directory to your system path. See the documentation
for your Windows® version for information about adding a directory to the system path.
NOTE:
The command-line utilities require administrator rights to run under Windows®
operating systems. Right-click the Command Prompt menu item and select Run as
administrator.
fio-attach
Description
Attaches the IO Accelerator and makes it available to the operating system. This creates a block device in
the /dev file named fiox (where x is a, b, c, and so forth). You can then partition, format, or set up the
IO Accelerator as part of a RAID array. The command displays a progress bar and percentage as it
operates.
NOTE:
In most cases, the IO Accelerator driver automatically attaches the device on load. Run
the fio-attach utility only if you ran the fio-detach utility or if you set the IO Accelerator
auto_attach parameter to 0.

fio-beacon
Description
Lights the PCIe IO Accelerator LEDs to locate the device. Detach the IO Accelerator, and then run the
fio-beacon utility.
Syntax
fio-beacon
where
/dev/fctx, where x indicates the device number. The number reflects the PCIe bus for the IO
Accelerator. For example, the name /dev/fct4 refers to the IO Accelerator installed in PCIe Bus 4 in
your system. (Use the fio-status utility to view this number.)
Options

-1 On (default): Lights the three LEDs
•
-0 Off: Turns off the three LEDs
