About This Manual
110838 Tandem Computers Incorporated
ix
This manual describes the Tandem DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) Gateway. The
Tandem DDE Gateway allows applications based on Microsoft Windows software to
use the DDE protocol to communicate with Tandem Pathway server classes and
Guardian processes through Remote Server Call (RSC).
Tandem DDE Gateway
and Related Products
The Tandem DDE Gateway requires only one other Tandem product, Remote Server
Call (RSC). RSC allows client application programs running on workstations to access
Pathway servers and other Guardian processes over a data communications network.
RSC is documented in the Remote Server Call (RSC) Installation and Management Guide
and the Remote Server Call (RSC) Programming Manual.
The Tandem DDE Gateway includes the workstation-based Gateway software and the
Tandem Bridge program. For a complete list of the hardware and software required to
run the Tandem DDE Gateway, see the SOFTDOC. For a set of example Tandem DDE
Gateway applications, please see the README.TXT file in the \EXAMPLES
subdirectory.
