being used matches the one used by your Tandem program, the RSC session or
group alias matches the one used by your Tandem program, and that you will
actually connect the TDP being used by your Tandem program. On the Tandem
system, use RSC status commands to check the TDP, connection, and RSC terminal
actually being used.

Check which Tandem DDE Gateway configuration file is being used. The default
could have been overridden by the TdmgwConfigurationFile option in the
WIN.INI file. Use the Tandem DDE Gateway menu selections “File” and then
“Gateway Configuration File Name” to check on the file name.

In your client application, check that the DDE item name used when establishing
the DDE hot or warm data link matches that used by your Tandem program.

Ensure that your client application is actually creating a DDE hot or warm data
link to the Tandem DDE Gateway. Use the Tandem DDE Gateway logging feature
to check for the presence of a DDE WM_DDE_ADVISE message. This message is
the internal DDE protocol message that starts a DDE hot or warm data link.

Try to create a DDE hot or warm link to another DDE server program such as
Microsoft Excel. If this does not work, research how your client tool supports
DDE hot and warm links by reading the manual and calling the telephone support
number.
