You can specify the AutomaticStartupOption attribute for each PortName object
defined in the [Ports] section using the following syntax:
PortName=AutomaticStartupOption
PortName
You must have declared this PortName in the [Ports] section (or it can be the
automatically defined DEFAULT PortName).
AutomaticStartupOption
This flag indicates whether you want the data communications connection to be
started automatically when the Tandem DDE Gateway is started.
0=Do not automatically start connection
1= Automatically start connection
Default
The default value is 0 (zero)—do not automatically start connection.

Configuration Files
Following are some example Tandem DDE Gateway configuration files. They
illustrate these typical configuration scenarios:
Workstation that accesses a single client application through a single connection to
a Tandem system.
Workstation that accesses two client applications through a single connection to a
Tandem system.
Workstation that accesses two client applications through two connections to
Tandem systems.
Workstation That Accesses One Application Through One Connection
You do not need a DDE Gateway configuration file for workstations that access a
single application through a single connection. Defaults can be taken for all
configuration options.
The descriptions of the ServiceName objects will be picked up from SERVICE.INI (see
the description for the default of the ServiceMapFile option). The Tandem Pathway
environment (PATHMON) name can be configured as the RSC options
writeread_system and writeread_pathmon. If you do not specify the
ApplicationName on the DDE Execute INITIALIZESERVICE commands in your client
application, then the ApplicationName of DEFAULT will be used. This name is
automatically associated with the ApplicationHostEnvironment of DEFAULT and the
PortName of DEFAULT, and thus picks up the RSC configuration options.
