5–5
For example, if your DDL dictionary contains payroll application messages that start
with “PY” (such as PY010-EMPLOYEE-ADD), and accounts payable application
messages that start with “AP” (such as AP910-PO-DELETE), then enter “PY” to have
only the payroll application messages copied to the Tandem DDE Gateway Dictionary.
Prompts from the Bridge program will show defaults in angle brackets. You can abort
the Bridge program at any prompt by pressing Control+Y. The following is an
example execution of the Bridge program:
$DATA MYSUBVOL 14> RUN $DISK.ZTDMGW.BRIDGE

By default, error messages are sent to the terminal from which you execute the Bridge.
You can override this by entering a TACL ASSIGN command for the STDERR logical
before you run the Bridge program. For example,
$DATA MYSUBVOL 14> ASSIGN STDERR, $S.#BRIDGE.ERR
↵
$DATA MYSUBVOL 15> RUN $DISK.ZTDMGW.BRIDGE
↵
FastSort Program
After you have run the Bridge program, run the Tandem FastSort program to sort the
dictionary that was output by the Bridge program.
Note
Find the DDESORT FastSort command file in the Installation Subvolume (ISV) on your Tandem system
where the Tandem DDE Gateway was installed. Contact your system manager to find out the disk
volume where the ISV subvolume (ZTDMGW) is located.
