1
The maximum number of resources that can be used as an S-VOL is 48. You cannot establish any relationship if 48 resources
are already used in the S-VOL, and if the copy data range of relationships that are already established overlap all the resources.
2
Half is for the copy source extent, and the other half is for the copy target extent.
3
The maximum number of resources that can be used as an S-VOL is 128.
4
The maximum number of resources that can be used as an S-VOL is 400.
5
The maximum number of resources that can be used as an S-VOL is 784.
The number of pairs that can be created is determined by the following formula:
The maximum number of relations that can be established is the largest number that
meets the equations
and ( )
1,048,575, where:
•
means the total number of resources that need to be used.
•
means the total number of resources available in the storage system.
= 26,176 or 57,600, or 104,768.
If the storage system is an XP24000 Disk Array,
can also be 146,688, or
209,600.
For details, see
“Additional Shared Memory for Differential Tables” (page 15)
•
( ) means the total number of relationships.
“Referential Example for Calculating the Number of Relationships” (page 70)
shows an example
of what happens when 7 relationships are created with 3390-3 volumes and 3 relationships are
created with 3390-L volumes (32,769 CYL).
