TrueCopy for Mainframe pair is also functioning as the S-VOL of another ShadowImage for
Mainframe pair. This configuration allows you to:

Use TrueCopy for Mainframe to provide remote backup of ShadowImage for Mainframe
S-VOLs, and/or
•
Use ShadowImage for Mainframe to provide on-site backup copies of TrueCopy for Mainframe
M-VOLs and R-VOLs.

shows an example of a volume functioning as both a TrueCopy for Mainframe M-VOL and a
ShadowImage for Mainframe T-VOL.
This configuration does not allow ShadowImage for Mainframe and TrueCopy for Mainframe to
copy at the same time. Create the ShadowImage for Mainframe pair first, and then split the pair
before creating the TrueCopy for Mainframe pair. You must suspend the TrueCopy for Mainframe
pair in order to resync the SI pair.
