Note the following when using the Preserve Mirror FlashCopy function that uses Compatible
FlashCopy V2. For details about the Preserve Mirror FlashCopy function, see the Compatible
Mirroring for IBM FlashCopy User's Guide.
CAUTION:
If a Compatible FlashCopy V2 relationship of Preserve Mirror is created in COPY
mode, the relationship between the primary and secondary sites is created. However, both copies
are not synchronized. If the Withdraw is issued during the copy operation, both copies of the
Compatible FlashCopy V2 relationship are ended. Therefore, consistency of data between the
M-VOL and R-VOL is not ensured even though the TCz Synchronous pair is in Duplex mode.
This status can be confirmed with the CQUERY command. The message PAIR WAS THE TARGET
OF A WITHDRAWN PRESERVE MIRROR RELATION
shown in the figure below, is displayed. To
release this status, delete the TCz Synchronous pair.
The following figure provides an example of issuing the CQUERY command to the M-VOL of TCz
Synchronous pair using the VOLUME parameter.
