2 Installing and Uninstalling HP 3PAR Recovery Manager
for Microsoft Exchange
Requirements for Configuring an Administrator Account
Before proceeding with the installation or performing any administrative operations, ensure the
following user privileges for Administrator meet the following requirements:
•
Exchange permissions must be assigned to a user account through Microsoft Exchange
•
Domain accounts must be present in the local administrator's group to install and to run HP
3PAR Recovery Manager
•
Apply a role of greater than read only administrator to the Windows domain account running
HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange
•
Following Exchange Groups must be added to non-Administrator user created on Active
directory:
◦ Enterprise Admins
◦ Exchange Organization Administrators
◦ Schema Admins
◦ Domain Admins
Installing HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange
Install HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange on a host computer where
Microsoft Exchange is running.
During the installation, an automated installer checks to make sure that you have the correct authority
and then checks whether the required components are installed. You are then guided through the
steps required to install the components that are necessary for HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software
for Microsoft Exchange to function properly.
To run the installation, you must have Microsoft Windows 2008, Microsoft Windows 2008 R2,
or Microsoft Windows 2012 Datacenter Edition with administrative and Power user privileges.
The 4.4.2 installer will guide you to install following required components:
•
Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 or later
•
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
•
HP 3PAR CLI (3.1.3)
•
HP 3PAR VSS Provider 2.3.0 for Microsoft
NOTE: For details on system requirements, see the latest Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge
for HP Storage Products (SPOCK) document.
CAUTION: HP recommends backing up of repository data before upgrading the HP 3PAR
Recovery Manager. See “Upgrading to HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange” (page 23) for
instructions on performing a backup.
NOTE: Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5 is required for installation on Microsoft Windows 2012.
NOTE: HP recommends that you install the application directly from the system console. If you
perform the installation using a remote desktop connection, you need to log off and log on again
after the installation has completed.
