NOTE:
The port used should be the same on both backup server and production servers.
•
Find out and stop the application using the default port of HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for
Exchange
To find out the application using the default port:
1.
Open the command prompt.
2.
Run netstat -ano | find "
Example
c:\>netstat -ano | find "9933"
UDP 10.10.5.32: 9933 *:* 1252
UDP 16.154.142.171: 9933 *:* 1252
UDP 127.0.0.1: 9933 *:* 1252
This will list the process ID of the application that is using the port. (The PID of the
application in the example is 1252.)
To know the application name for the process id which is using the port:
tasklist | find "
Example
c:\ >tasklist | find "9933"
application.exe 1252 Services 0 23,228 K
If it is possible, stop this application to free up the port and restart HP 3PAR Recovery manager
for Exchange service from services.msc
Problem:
Auto restore fails at mount occasionally.
Suggestion:
Check if SAN policy is set to "Shared all" or "Offline All". Change SAN policy to "Online All'
and rerun the task. To change SAN policy:
1.
Open MS-DOS Prompt.
2.
Run diskpart.exe.
3.
Enter san policy=”onlineall”.
An output displays DiskPart successfully changed the SAN policy for the
current operating system
.
Problem:
When mounting a virtual copy to iSCSI host, it fails with error “Host name not found in StoreServ”.
Suggestion:
Ensure that the iSCSI host name in HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system is configured as FQDN
(Fully Qualified Domain Name). If an IQN (iSCSI Qualified Name) of a host is
IQN.1991-05.com.microsoft:vm1-exch2010.cw-domain2.com, keep iSCSI host name in StoreServ
as vm1-exch2010.cw-domain2.com. The name must be case sensitive.
Problem:
Backup software does not invoke post job command in the following cases:
•
Media configured for backup is offline.
•
Media configured for backup is running with low space.
•
Network issue.
In such cases, the impact on HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange is as follows:
1.
GUI will show backup status in progress.
2.
Backup time stamp will be empty.
