Server Relationships
The following defines the roles, relationships, and restrictions between the server types:
Backup Server
The backup server plays a central control point for the HP 3PAR Recovery Manager that controls
and manages the backup and restore on different mailbox/Exchange servers.
NOTE:
•
If you are using third-party software (such as NetBackup or Data Protector or Backup Exec)
in the backup environment, you must install the backup client or master on the backup server.
•
When specifying the verification server with the -vs option (see “HpRmCli Exch backup”
(page 67) ) for backups, you must install the HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Backup Server
component on the server.
