Description

Parameters

Option

Preallocate the specified WWN or preallocate initiator WWNs
for a specified Virtual Connect Domain Group. Displays the
reserved WWNs to standard output in ASCII format. You must
specify a Virtual Connect Domain Group name and an integer
from 1 to 100 if you enter a DomainGroupName. Either of the
following formats is acceptable:

-reserve –wwn 08:03:24:34:AE:89:21:99

-reserve –wwn DomainGroupName 32

If you specify more than just lsmutil –reserve –wwn, you
must specify either the DomainGroupName and the number of
WWNs to reserve, or the single WWN to reserve.

If only the -wwn parameter is supplied with the reserve option,
the available domain groups are displayed.

Using LSMUTIL with logical server storage

The LSMUTIL command line interface can be used to:

Modify storage information to create multiple storage pool entries without using the logical
server storage screens in Virtualization Manager (see

“Creating multiple storage pool entries”

(page 98)

)

Facilitate communication between the server administrator who defines storage pool entries,
and the storage administrator who creates, presents, and zones storage (see

“Easing

communication between server and storage administrators” (page 97)

)

Request initiator WWNs for storage preallocation

“Requesting server (initiator) WWNs for

storage preallocation” (page 100)

)

Modify server information to include details about local disks (see

“Modifying physical servers

with local disk information” (page 103)

)
