To prepare the boiler:
1. After selecting the mounting location, install and/or retrofit existing ports to accommodate
BoilerSpection system.
2. Affix the mounting plate “A” (See Figure 14) to the furnace wall. Ensure that there is
adequate room for a safety zone behind the mounting location, where the camera system
can fully retract.
Caution: It is important that you label this area CAUTION.
Note: LumaSense offers both weld-on and bolt-on options for the mounting plates.
Exact dimensions of the plate are often customized for each site.
3.2 Mounting the Air Filtration System and Retraction Control Box
The air filtration system and retract control box must be mounted within the 15 foot (4.5m) hose
and cord lengths provided to reach the camera location. These two items should be installed in an
area where there is no possibility of furnace blow back and in an area that is safe and easy to
access.

Caution: The filter should be mounted below the level of the camera and in a location
that avoids furnace blow back or exposure to temperatures above 85°C (185°F) for
periods greater than 10 minutes.
The filters must also be in a position that allows enough space for the housing bowls to easily be
lowered for filter element replacement.
