While it is not possible to cover all possible installation circumstances, this chapter covers the
requirements common to all installations and provides suggested installation steps and guidelines.
For assistance with your specific installation, please contact LumaSense Technologies and consider
ordering on-site installation and commissioning support.
3.1 BoilerSpection Installation Guidelines
3.1.1 General Requirements
Skilled Labor
Welders
Electrician
IT support
Facility Connections
Single Camera System
Electrical: Standard 110-240VAC, 50-60Hz
Air: 1” air supply line with 20 cfm at 100 psi nominal (min 80 psi) to connect to
the LumaSense supplied air filtration system
Multiple Camera Installation to support for up to six (6) cameras
Electrical: Two 120 VAC lines of 15 Amps each
Air: 1” air supply line to each camera location with 40 cfm at 100 psi nominal
(min 80 psi) to each camera location. Header supplying the 1” air lines needs to
have sufficient capacity to supply to the number of cameras connected to that
header.
3.1.2 Typical Recommended Installation Timeline
16 weeks prior: Determine system requirements and solution architecture
12 weeks prior: Order system
10 weeks prior: Site Visit
Confirm mounting locations for cameras and “regions of interest” for camera angle.
Determine mounting locations for field panels (enclosures), retraction controls, air
filters, etc.
Measure routing distances between all sub-systems.
Identify computer mounting locations and display locations for GUI in the control room.
8 weeks prior: Review installation drawings and utility hook up requirements
4 weeks prior: Planning meeting to review resource planning and determine plant
access requirements for LumaSense personnel
Schedule Welders to be available during installation week.
Submit security clearance paperwork.
3 weeks prior
Site to receive mounting hardware and retraction system hardware from LumaSense.
