Network Link LEDs

(L)NKOK—lit when there is a network connection, (for example,

LINK OK).

(A)CT—lit if there is system activity.

(C)OL—lit if there are network collisions.

(E)RROR—lit when the system has detected an error.

Third-party applications

The WLAN Application Gateway 2246 enables third-party software
applications to communicate with the wireless telephones. Users can
receive and retrieve important information from external systems. Some
examples of applications in various markets are as follows:

Health care:

access patient pharmaceutical records

receive text messages from nurse call systems

receive e-mail from remote test labs

Retail:

look up merchandise prices

access inventory
