8.11 Changing the Device Name
The serial number of the device is displayed as the default device name.
Requirement:
☐ You must have the user role Installer or PV system administrator (see Section 13.1 "Users
and User Rights", page 108).
Device name requirements:
☐ The maximum length of the device name is 20 characters.
Procedure:
1. Select the device properties of the device (see Section 8.2 "Calling Up the Properties of a
Device", page 53).
2. Select [Edit].
☑ The menu for setting the device properties opens.
3. Enter a device name in the Device Name or Name of Load text field.
4. Select [Save].
8.12 Changing a Device Description
You can enter an arbitrary description for each device. The description of the device is displayed in
Device Properties.
Requirement:
☐ You must be a standard user, installer or PV system administrator (see Section 13.1
"Users and User Rights", page 108).
Procedure:
1. Call up the device properties of the SMA device (see Section 8.2 "Calling Up the Properties of
a Device", page 53).
2. Select [Edit].
☑ The menu for setting the device properties opens.
3. Enter a description in the Description text field.
4. Select [Save].
