Restoring network configuration

Controls for Physical devices and Logical devices appear.

6. Expand the control under Physical devices.

Controls for Slot 0 and Slot 1 appear.

7. Identify the slot that displays the error indicating the failed drive.

You can also select the control for Slot 0 or Slot 1 and view status messages at the
bottom of the Adaptec Storage Manager window.

8. Position yourself facing the front of the K2 Media Client and proceed as follows:

• If Slot 0 is the failed drive, replace the drive on your left.

• If Slot 1 is the failed drive, replace the drive on your right.

Restoring network configuration

When you receive an internal storage K2 Media Client from the factory, the four
Gigabit Ethernet ports are DHCP enabled and there is a loopback adapter installed.
There is no teaming on an internal storage K2 Media Client.

When you receive a direct-connect storage K2 Media Client from the factory, the two
Gigabit Ethernet ports are DHCP enabled and there is a loopback adapter installed.
There is no teaming on a direct-connect storage K2 Media Client.

On stand-alone storage (either internal or direct-connect storage) K2 Media Clients,
do the following to restore the network configuration:

• Use standard Windows procedures to reset the ports to DHCP enabled.

“Install the loop-back adapter”

“Identify adapters”

“Set Rx/Tx Descriptors Value”

“Reorder adapters”

“Set power management settings”

When you receive an shared storage K2 Media Client from the factory, it has
specialized network configuration, including a loopback adapter and two of the four
Gigabit Ethernet ports configured as a teamed pair.

On shared storage K2 Media Clients, do the following to restore the network
configuration:

“Install the loop-back adapter”

“Identify adapters”

“Set Rx/Tx Descriptors Value”

“Create the Control Team”

“Name team”

“Reorder adapters”
