5 Phasor Diagram

5.1 Phasor Diagram Overview

The Phasor Diagram is a full featured measurement function that allows users to quickly view and determine the
status of their power system. This feature includes a single cycle measurement with real time update of all
fundamental and RMS demand quantities. Single cycle waveshapes are plotted on screen for quick viewing of
wave data on all channels, and a harmonic decomposition to the 50

th

harmonic is included for all channels and a

calculated neutral current. The phasor diagram should always be the starting point of data collection, since the
phase and orientation of all connected leads can easily be determined graphically. Data analysis includes:

• Fundamental volts, amps, watts, vars, displacement pf, (with angles for vectors).
• RMS volts, amps, watts, vars, total pf.
• Frequency (if frequency following is enabled).
• Voltage and current RMS imbalance in percent for three phase voltages and currents.
• Fundamental phasor diagram.
• Sequence phasor diagram.
• Single harmonic phasor diagram (user selected harmonic).
• Waveshapes for all channels and calculated neutral.
• Integer harmonic decomposition for all signals to the 50th harmonic.

5.2 Phasor Diagram Configuration

The phasor diagram configuration gives the user access to several display and capture features. All critical
information for defining Phasor Diagram capture is accessed here.

Items in the Phasor Diagram Configuration include:

Graph View: determines which graphic will be displayed in the Phasor Graphics Window. Note that

for Sequence Phasors and Harmonic Phasors, the demand tabulations in the Phasor Demand Window
will be modified to show the appropriate tabular phasor results.
