Display Studio Workspace Management
Whenever you make create or make changes to your workspaces, those changes are saved in your
Nucleus database – the backbone of your Show Control System. It helps all of the pieces of your system
know what’s going on around them. As a result, it is important to ensure that all of those pieces, and
particularly your user stations, are communicating with the database properly and that the database is
always up to date. This section will provide helpful tips about how to ensure that your user stations are
working with your Show Control System properly and how to make a backup of, and restore, your Display
Studio workspaces.

Saving and opening your workspaces
Here we will discuss how to save and open your workspaces – two important tasks to be aware of, unless
you plan to restart your work from scratch every day.
Saving your workspace
To save your workspace at any time, from within Display Studio, click the Display Studio Hub to open the
Main Menu, and select Save.
Also note that Display Studio will automatically save your workspace each time you close the workspace
or exit Display Studio.
Saving your workspace with a different name
This function can be performed for multiple reasons, but you are most likely to use it for renaming your
workspace or duplicating it to start creating a new workspace. Note that this will create a new workspace,
so if you simply wish to rename your workspace, you will need to delete the workspace with the old name.
1. Click the Display Studio Hub, and then select Save As… to open the Name window.
2. Enter the name for the new workspace in the Name textbox.
3. If you wish for the new workspace to be opened immediately after saving, ensure that the Load new
workspace box is checked.
4. Click Save.
Opening a workspace
To open a workspace, from within Display Studio, navigate to Display Studio Hub > Open > Select
desired workspace. If you have a workspace opened, it will be saved and then closed, and the selected
workspace will open.
