U S I N G C O N F I G U R A T I O N F I L E S
This chapter explains how to upload configuration files from the
printer. You may want to check a printer’s configuration by uploading the
current configuration file. Once you have the uploaded configuration file,
you can identically configure another printer (clone a printer) or restore a
printer’s configuration.
Typically, the pathnames to the files being uploaded are relative to the
server’s home path, which is where the configuration file is to be written.

Use the following syntax to upload a configuration file. For the
recommended file sequence of sections in an NCL file, see “NCL File
Sequence” in Chapter 1.

User name for file transfer

%IPA The IP address is
substituted for %IPA and dots
(‘.’) are replaced with dashes (‘-‘).
%MAC The MAC address is substituted for
%MAC and dots are replaced
with dashes (‘-‘).
%PUC The value of a counter is
inserted in place of %PUC.
The counter is set to zero when
the printer is turned on and
incremented each time a log
file is sent to the host.
