1.2 System Management
The system manager function is provided by the end user and is responsible for managing one
or more Centellis 2000 shelves. The shelf manager of the MF106 board provides an interface
(Hardware Platform Interface, HPI) to monitor and control the assigned shelves.
The shelf manager provides the information about the shelf and all its FRUs via the following
interfaces:
 To the system manager outside the shelf using IP via the out-of-band interface or hub
uplinks
 Inside the shelf via the backplane interfaces
