Power Subsystem
7.1 Overview
This section contains information on AC power supplies, DC power entry modules, and also the
AC and DC power distribution within the Centellis 2000 platform core.
7.2 Power Subsystem
7.2.1 AC Power Supply
Up to two field-replaceable PSUs are installed in the middle of the shelf’s front. Each PSU
supplies one DC feed from its power supply to the backplane.
Important features of the PSUs are:
 Redundancy such that a single PSU failure provides full power to the system
 Hot-swap
 AC to DC conversion
 Power filtering
7.2.2 DC Power Supply
Up to two field-replaceable PEMs are installed in the middle of the shelf’s front. Each PEM
routes one DC feed from a power inlet on the rear to the backplane.
At the minimum operating voltage (40 V), this power entry supports 1000 W.
Important features of the PEMs are:
 Redundancy such that a single PEM failure will still provide full power to the system
 Hot-swap
 Power filtering
 30A Circuit Breaker
The PEM supports the complete functionality as defined by the PICMG 3.0 specification.
