Configuration Using the Web Interface
SysLog Configuration
The System Log provides the system administrator ES8510 events history. There are two System Log modes
provided by the ES8510, Local mode and Remote mode.
When enabling Local or Both modes, you can monitor the system logs in the Monitor and Diag /Event Log
page.
System Event
Warning Event is sent when….
SFP DDM Failure
The information read from the DDM SFP transceiver is over temperature or
out the range of TX/RX power.
Port Event
Warning is sent when…..
Link-Up
The port is connected to another device.
Link-Down
The port is disconnected. For example, the cable is pulled out or the opposing
devices is down.
Both
The link status changed.
Apply
Click Apply to apply the settings.
Note: You must Save the settings (
), if you want to maintain these
settings if the ES8510 is powered off.
Warning - SysLog Configuration Page
Syslog Mode
There are two system logs available:
•
Local Mode: The ES8510 prints the events that have been selected in the
Event Selection page to the System Log table of the ES8510. You can
monitor the system logs in the Monitor and Diag /Event Log page.

Remote Mode: Assign the IP address of the System Log server. The ES8510
sends the events that occurred in the selected in Event Selection page to
System Log server that you assign.
•
Both: This enables both Local and Remote modes.
Remote IP Address
The IP address of the System log server.
Apply
Click Apply to apply the settings.
Note: You must Save the settings (
), if you want to maintain these
settings if the ES8510 is powered off.
