The SAS cable on the rear of the backplane that connects to the baseboard

The HDD LED cable on the front of the backplane that connects to the front panel board

The HSBP/LED cable on the front of the backplane that connects to the baseboard

The HDD backplane power cable that connects to the power distribution board

CAUTION: Before replacing any of the boards on the CG1200 server, you must first take the server out of
service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the server, turn off the server by pressing the power
button, and unplug the power cord(s) from the system and wall outlet.

When handling the SAS backplane board, observe the normal safety and ESD precautions. See
“Appendix A: Safety Information” for more information.

5.6.1 Removing the Old SAS Backplane Board

1. Power down the server and remove any external devices and the power cord(s)

2. Remove the top chassis cover. For instructions, see Section 3.2.1, “Removing the Chassis Cover”.

3. Remove the front panel bezel. For instructions, see Section 3.2.3, “Removing the Front Bezel”.

4. Remove any hard disk drives from the drive bay slots to disengage them from the backplane (Figure

57, “A”).

5. Remove the bracket that fastens the backplane board to the HDD bay assembly by loosening the two

screws that fastens it to the drive bay cover (“B”).
