Perform all steps in “Pre-Start Checklist” on page 18
and “Field Setup Checklist” on page 36.

Note: Use Depth Control mode. If tractor 3-point hitch

control is set for Load Control, hitch movement
may cause changes in row unit depth resulting in
uneven depth control.

john ® manual supplied with this unit, and the Seed Rate
manual.

3. Set fan hydraulic circuit to low flow, engage

circuit. Gradually adjust fan hydraulic flow to
obtain (normally) 3800 rpm.

4. Engage optional hydraulic seed drive via

seed monitor.

5. In the CLUTCH cluster of the CFM, set all

switches, including Master, to ON.

6. Pull forward, lower planter, and begin plant-

ing for a short distance.

7. Stop. Assess planting depth, seed spacing,

press wheel operation and fertilizer applica-
tion (if in use)

8. Make necessary adjustments
