Reservoir on Mainframe Truss
This topic applies only to kits 401-879A and 411-168A,
and planter models:
For other kits, find the topic starting page in the table on
page 41.
Refer to Figure 52 and Figure 53
The truss-mount reservoir location is used with 3-point
“wide row” planters that have a truss weldment
above
the mainframe tool bar. It applies to kits 401-879A and
411-168A, which have the following component unique
to the truss location:
401-878L 3PT 8 ROW WIDE HYD RES W/FLTR
This tank weldment has two mount plates (front- and
rear-facing) and straight bolts, designed to straddle the
truss tube.
78. Select one new:
401-878L 3PT 8 ROW WIDE HYD RES W/FLTR
and four sets new:
802-377C HHCS 1/2-13X7 1/2 GR5
804-015C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1/2 PLT
803-020C NUT HEX 1/2-13 PLT
If the fasteners are pre-installed in the reservoir
assembly, completely remove them.
79. With the front face (which has the sight gauge )
facing forward, lower the reservoir weldment down
over the right side of the truss tube, at a distance of:
27 inches (68.6 cm)
from hitch center-line to reservoir mount center-line.
80. Insert two bolts through the holes of the
weldment plates, underneath the truss tube.
Secure the bolts with lock washers and
nuts .
