Tuning Procedure
The PowerFlex 7000 ‘A’ Frame medium voltage drive must be tuned
to the motor and load to which it is connected. There are three drive
functions that require tuning. These are listed below in the order in
which they are usually performed:
1.
Rectifier
2.
Mtr Impedance
3.
FluxSpeedReg
The first two functions can be tuned with the motor stationary, but
third function requires the motor to rotate. In case the drive cannot
complete the tuning, it should be carried out manually.
NOTE:
1.
You will need to have a minimum of SERVICE level access to
complete manual tuning. If you do not have SERVICE level
access, please contact the factory.
2.
Make sure the following tuning parameters are set to default
values:
• Input Impedance (P#140)
• T DC Link (P#115)
• R Stator (P#129)
• L Total Leakage (P#130)
• Lm Rated (P#131)
• T rotor (P#132)
• Total Inertia (P#82)
• Lmd (P#418)
1. Rectifier
The Rectifier tuning function calculates parameter Input Impedance
(140) and T DC Link (115) in Current Control group.
• Input Impedance
Input Impedance is used in the software reconstruction of the line
voltage to compensate for the drop in the line impedance. It is also
used in the calculation of the line converter retard limit (for SCR
rectifiers) to ensure proper operation under all conditions of line
voltage and load current. If the Input Impedance parameter is not
correctly adjusted, the resulting error in the reconstructed line
voltage may cause line synchronization faults and incorrect reading
of the incoming line voltage.
The
Input Impedance parameter is tuned with the drive operating in
the dc current test mode. Although the Input Impedance was tuned
during factory test, it must be retuned during commissioning because
its value is determined by the impedance of the input transformer and
harmonic filter (if present).
