the hardware enclosure that contains an adapter and I/O modules that
are located remotely on a serial communication link to a PLCĆ5
processor in scanner mode
DiscreteĆtransfer data
data (words) transferred to/from a discrete I/O module
BlockĆtransfer data
data transferred, in blocks of data up to 64 words, to/from a blockĆ
transfer I/O module (for example, an analog module)
