4.2 Central management of data (parameter settings)
The Controller manages the parameter settings centrally and writes them into the corresponding
Lenze device.
The central management of parameter settings is exclusively made for these Lenze devices:
• i700 servo inverter
• I/O system 1000
The parameters "operating-hour meter", "elapsed-hour meter" and "error counter" are not managed
centrally in the Controller.
Defining the starting parameters for Servo Drives 9400/Inverter Drives 8400
For Lenze devices which do not support the central management by the Controller, you can define
the desired starting parameters manually.
The Controller manages the starting parameters and transmits them (at system start) to the
corresponding device.
Starting parameters can be defined for the following Lenze devices:
• Servo Drives 9400 HighLine
• Inverter Drives 8400 StateLine/HighLine/TopLine
• Inverter Drives 8400 motec/protec

Tip!
The starting parameters for the device can be found in the »PLC Designer« device-specific
starting parameter.

Note!
Saving the boot application: preventing data loss in the case of a device replacement
The Controller manages and saves the parameter settings of the Lenze devices as boot
application.
For this purpose, save the parameter settings manually as boot application with the »PLC
Designer«.
In case of service, a Lenze device can be replaced without any loss of information, and the
replacement device is ready for operation immediately, since the controller transmits
the previous parameter settings (during the system start) to the replacement device.
