4.1.8 »Backup & Restore« (data backup/restore)
Backup
»Backup & Restore« provides for the comfortable data exchange between the Controller and the
Engineering PC via USB flash drive.
The following Controller data can be backed up:
• Internal flash memory:
• Operating system/runtime software
• SD card:
User-specific data (e.g. PLC program), parameter settings (available device-dependent, e.g. for
Servo Inverters i700)
»Backup & Restore« is a Lenze software for backing up/restoring data of
the Controller and for updating the software/firmware.
Functions of »Backup & Restore«:
• Preparation of a USB flash drive for automated backup/restore on the
Controller
• Update of the software/firmware of the Controller by means of a USB
flash drive (software update)
• The operating software (operating system
and Lenze software) is stored in the
internal flash memory of the Controller.
• The user-specific data are stored on the SD
card of the controller.

