Installing an expansion card
This section contains instructions for installing PCI cards and communication
cards, such as Ethernet and internal modem cards.
Installing a PCI card
This section contains general instructions for installing a peripheral
component interconnect (PCI) card. Refer also to any instructions that came
with the card. PCI cards for your computer must be either 6.88 inches or
12.28 inches long. Here’s how to install one:
1 If your PCI card has ports for connecting equipment, remove the port cover.
6.88-inch cards fit in the top slot; a 6.88-inch or 12.28-inch card fits in the
middle slot.
