Appendix R: Support for IPv6
This section contains information about the parameter that is required when using IPv6. The Front End
applications don’t need any changes in configuration to use IPv6. The TCP process should be configured for
supporting IPv6 connections. There is a parameter that needs to be included in the ELKCONFA & ELKCONFO
files i.e. INET6. The ELKCONFA file would be updated if the Windows applications (OCC, ObjectMap, etc)
are going to be using IPv6 IP addresses. The ELKCONFO file would be updated if the Console and/or Event
Management systems are going to be using IPv6 IP addresses. There is no ‘value’ associated with this parameter
– it either exists or it does not. Since this file is managed automatically, if you want your change to be
