5 Block Services Package
Profile introduction
The VSM server supports the SMI-S 1.4.0 Block Services Package and Thin Provisioning profiles in
the manner specified by the SMI-S 1.4 Storage Virtualizer Profile. The Block Services functionality
encompasses the basic virtual disk management actions and state representation for storage virtual
disks and storage pools.

Object model
Object model overview
The key classes for the Block Services Profile are presented in the instance diagram below.
StorageVirtualDisk and StoragePool are the primary managed elements of the profile. The
StorageConfigurationService is the single service instance that provides the fundamental services of
the profile.
