4 Cascading Profile

This VSM Server Profile supports the SMI-S 1.4 Cascading Profile.

Note that this implementation of the SMI Cascading Profile is a minimal one and does not contain
certain non-functional classes that are necessary to be compliant with the SMI version. The SMI
Cascading Profile has been deprecated and CTP does not currently test it. In spite of this, the profile
uses an SMI Cascading subset as a preferable means to doing a vendor extension to the Storage
Virtualizer Profile to provide information about back-end storage systems and their virtual disks.

The following profiles are related to this one:

The Storage Virtualizer Autonomous Profile requires this component profile.

Functional description

This profile provides the means for a client to identify the storage systems and their storage virtual
disks in the SAN that are providing storage to the VSM as VSM "disks."
