Allocating volumes to clustered hosts

You can group hosts that belong to a cluster into a logical group and allocate volumes to those hosts
at the same time. This creates volumes allocated to individual hosts that belong to a cluster.

Information that needs to be confirmed beforehand:

The names of the hosts that belong to the target cluster

The number and size of volumes required

In addition, if there are conditions (such as drive type and parity group) that you want to specify
according to the operating environment, check them in advance.

If you specify a tier and then select volumes from the tier, the Tiered Storage Manager license is
enabled.

To allocate volumes to clustered hosts:

1.

From the Resources menu, select Logical Groups.

2.

Expand the tree and select the desired clustered hosts under the target logical group.

3.

Click Show Plan and verify the information that is displayed.

4.

If there is no problem with the plan, execute it

5.

View a list of tasks to make sure that all tasks are completed.

Note that classifying hosts by using logical groups makes it easy to select the target hosts. If logical
groups have not been created, you can select multiple hosts in the Allocate Volumes dialog box
instead, which can be opened from the Actions menu, General Tasks, or the storage view.
