A Operations in Legacy mode
This appendix describes data migration using migration groups that were supported in prior P9000
Command View AE Suite versions.
About Legacy mode
Legacy mode is an option for performing data migration by using migration groups that were supported
in versions earlier than 7.1.1. To use legacy mode, set the
client.migration.use.legacymode
property value in the
client.properties
file of Device Manager. For details about the
client.migration.use.legacymode property, see the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite
Software Administrator Guide.
If using Legacy mode or the Tiered Storage Manager CLI, operation permissions for Tiered Storage
Manager users must be set by assigning permissions to each user and not by using roles.
If using Legacy mode or the Tiered Storage Manager CLI, the list of tasks for data migration are
displayed in a different format than other tasks. In the summary window for the task, you must select
TSMgr CLI / Legacy TSMgr Tasks.
User permissions in Legacy mode
User permissions determine the scope of resources and operations a user can access or perform.
You can assign the following permissions to a P9000 Command View AE Suite groups:
•
Admin: A user with Admin permission can register resources to be managed, change settings,
and view information. If the user is assigned to All Resources, the user can manage resource
groups.
•
Modify: A user with Modify permission can register resources to be managed, change settings,
and view information.
•
View: A user with View permission can reference managed resources.
•
Peer: A user with Peer permission can access only Device Manager agents, and cannot log into
HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite products by using the browser. A resource
group cannot be assigned to users that have the Peer role.
NOTE:
Peer role cannot be assigned in combination with any user permission level other than User
Management.
Additionally, you can assign the following Tiered Storage Manager permissions:
•
Admin: A user with Admin permission can only view Tiered Storage Manager resources and tasks.
•
Modify: A user with Modify permission can perform volume migrations and all operations in the
Tiers tree on the Resources tab.
