Production Server

1.

Uninstall HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange. See

“Modifying, Repairing, or Removing

2.

Install HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange 4.4.2. See

“Installing HP 3PAR Recovery

Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange” (page 21)

.

Backup Server

1.

(For Exchange 2007) Backup the repository to a safe location, that is back up the folder
Exchange\Repository

and all directories and files under it.

2.

Uninstall HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange. See

“Modifying, Repairing, or Removing

HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange” (page 25)

.

3.

Install HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange 4.4.2. See

“Installing HP 3PAR Recovery

Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange” (page 21)

.

4.

Move the Repository folder from the old \RM\Exchange\Repository to the new \RM\
Exchange\Repository

location.

5.

Run the RMERepoUtils.exe utility.

6.

Check to see that the old virtual copies can be seen from the Graphical User Interface (GUI)
and reregister the Mailbox Servers, if necessary.

Installing HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange

Install HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software for Microsoft Exchange on a host computer where
Microsoft Exchange is running.

During the installation, an automated installer checks to make sure that you have the correct authority
and then checks whether the required components are installed. You are then guided through the
steps required to install the components that are necessary for HP 3PAR Recovery Manager Software
for Microsoft Exchange to function properly.

To run the installation, you must have Microsoft Windows 2008, Microsoft Windows 2008 R2,
or Microsoft Windows 2012 Datacenter Edition with administrative and Power user privileges.
The 4.4.2 installer will guide you to install following required components:

Microsoft .NET Framework v4.0 or later

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package

HP 3PAR CLI (3.1.2 or later)

HP 3PAR VSS Provider 2.2.2 for Microsoft

NOTE:

WARNING!

Before installing Recovery Manager, create a backup of your repository data.

CAUTION:

HP recommends backing up of data before upgrading the Recovery Manager. See

“Upgrading to HP 3PAR Recovery Manager for Exchange” (page 20)

for instructions on performing

a backup.

NOTE:

HP recommends that you install the application directly from the system console. If you

perform the installation using a remote desktop connection, you need to log off and log on again
after the installation has completed.
