process pressure source - There are four different sources that can be selected for the pro-
cess pressure:
• An absolute pressure analog input
• A gauge pressure analog input
• A user defined pressure value
• The steam table.
NOTE: The analog inputs selections are not available on “non-compensating” models.
Analog Input (Absolute) - This pressure source allows the user to input absolute pressure
information into the meter using the meter’s analog input. This selection requires the user to
connect a 4-20 mA absolute pressure transducer to the terminal block. An absolute pressure
transducer can provide real-time process pressure information. With real-time temperature
information, the meter can compensate for mass flow and standard flow measurements when
the pressure changes. When this pressure source is selected, the user must also enter the
appropriate pressure range information into the “Pressure Reading for 4 mA Analog Input” and
“Pressure Reading for 20 mA Analog Input” fields.
Analog Input (Gauge) - This pressure source allows the user to input gauge pressure infor-
mation into the meter using the meter’s analog input. This selection requires the user to con-
nect a 4-20 mA gauge pressure transducer to the terminal block. A gauge pressure gauge
can provide real-time process pressure information. With real-time temperature information,
the meter can compensate for mass flow and standard flow measurements when the pres-
sure changes. When this pressure source is selected, the user must also enter the appropriate
pressure range information into the “Pressure Reading for 4 mA Analog Input” and “Pressure
Reading for 20 mA Analog Input” fields.
User Defined - The user defined pressure source can be selected to specify a constant pro-
cess pressure. If this pressure source is selected, the pressure value entered in the “User
Defined Pressure” field is used as the process pressure. When the “User Defined” pressure
source is selected, the meter cannot compensate for mass flow or standard flow measure-
ments when the pressure changes.
steam Table - The “Steam Table” pressure source can only be selected on steam meters.
When this pressure source is selected, the meter uses the process temperature and a saturat-
ed steam table to determine the process pressure. This function assumes saturated steam and
will not accurately calculate the pressure of superheated steam.
NOTE: The steam table cannot be selected as the “Process Pressure Source” if the “Steam Table” has already
been selected as the “Process Temperature Source” in the “Process Temperature” dialog box.

Atmospheric Pressure - This field allows the user to specify the atmospheric pressure. The
atmospheric pressure unit is PSIA.
