Data
Badger ® ORION ® remote transmitter mounting kits are
available for most Badger ® Turbo, Compound Series,
and Fire Service Disc bypass meter lines. The kit lets
you securely mount an ORION remote transmitter to a
meter.
This Installation Data sheet provides details on how to
mount the remote transmitter onto applicable meters.
Before you begin the installation, you will need a torque
wrench set and the bracket mounting kit (part number
64394-023).
To install the bracket, follow these steps:
1. Verify that the water is turned off.
2. Slip the mounting bracket over the top of the
ORION transmitter, as shown below.
3. Remove the pit cap from the kit packaging and
screw it on the top of the transmitter. Hand tighten
the cap firmly. Verify that the bracket is secure.

4. At the meter, unscrew the head assembly bolt
at the location where you plan to mount the
transmitter.
5. Position the bracket, reinsert the casing bolt
and hand tighten it. ( Note: For clarity, the photo
below shows the bracket without the transmitter
attached.)
6. Position the bracket with the transmitter as far
from the meter as possible to provide adequate
space for the ORION transmitter to propogate.
