We strongly recommend that you have the fork end converted by your specialist dealer, since
various points have to be observed when doing this. If you don’t have the option of having this fork
converted for you we can recommend a specialist. (Address available from MAGURA upon request).

disMantling/Mounting:
Remove old fork end from upright tube. Make sure when doing this that the upright tube is not
damaged. Clean the thread on the forked tube before mounting (if necessary with wire brush).
Afterwards moisten all round with “medium strength” thread locking fluid and screw on the fork
end (60). Tightening torque: See manufacturer’s information.
iMPortant: When mounted the forked tube should not be warm because this could destroy the
thread and it would then no longer be possible to dismantle the fork end.
Afterwards push the forked tube (10) into the fork bridge again and mount the front wheel with the
brake disc. When mounting the MAGURA brake disc it is only necessary to exchange the brake
discs. The original 8.5 mm spacing and the screws (tightening torque 10 Nm) can be reused. After
mounting the fully-floating axle tighten the locking screws (70) with 8 Nm.

The distance sleeve (80) is also
necessary for the 660 models
(2003, 2004, 2005) and 640
super moto (2005), since the
fork bridge is wider. Since fork
bridges with distance dimensi-
ons and hubs are used which
differ from the standard, addi-
tional distance rings are avai-
lable with thicknesses of 2.5
and 4.0 mm for the KTM brake
discs.
