01. Familiarise yourself with the brake
system. Set the brake lever reach to
your hand size and carry out a number
of trial brakings away from road traffic.
02. The new brake pads and the new brake
discs must be “run in” to reach the best
possible deceleration values. For racing
applications we recommend about 3 laps
and about 100 km for road traffic.
During this running in process you should
avoid forced braking or continuous
braking as long as the traffic situation
permits.

01. Check the brake system while standing
(pressure point). In the case of a "soft"
pressure point it may be necessary to
rebleed the brakes at the valve on the
master cylinder. Check system for leaks.
02. If the pressure point has not been rea-
ched in two-thirds of the lever path,
actuate the lever several times ("pump
it") until the pads are applied to the
brake disc.
03. If the pressure point drifts during the
trip, air can be assumed to be in the
system. Bleed the system by means of
the valve on the master cylinder.
04. Hold the lever pulled in at the pressure
point and check all connections, hoses,
bleed screws and the equalising tank
for leaks.
05. Is the brake disc free from oil and
grease? Make sure that no oil can get
onto the brake disc. Pads which have
become oily can never be used again
and must be replaced.
06. Release the lever and check whether
the front wheel can be turned easily.
A slight amount of rubbing is permitted.
07. Are the safety devices for the brake
pads bolts mounted? Never travel
without these safety elements, without
those, the pads could come loose.
Do not travel if your motorbike does not function properly for any one of these points. If in doubt
make contact with your specialist dealer! A faulty motorbike / faulty mounting can lead
to serious accidents!
