59 - Operators Manual

Density

:

MEASURED DENSITY is fully independent of any
densities or expansion coefficients set by the operator. If
the level is above the upper sensor, the system will by
default use the measured density as its Actual Density
value. In the Loading setup (F2) one can chose whether to
use MD for both level and weight calculations, or to use
OD for just weight or both weight and level calculations.

Measured

Density

on

/

off

:

It is possible to force the computer to use operator density
by setting MEASURED DENSITY ON/OFF to off.

Operator

Density

:

OPERATOR DENSITY (OD) is the density value given as
OD1 or OD2, compensated to the current temperature in
the fluid, see below.

Operator

Density

1

:

This is the density entered by the operator at REF TEMP 1,
usually 15 degrees Celsius.

Reference

Temperature

1

:

This value is entered by the operator and is the temperature
at which OPERATOR DENSITY 1 is valid.

Operator

Density

2

:

This is the density entered by the operator at REF TEMP 2.
This value is not inserted if OD1 and TEMPERATURE
EXPANSION COEFFICIENT are used.

Reference

Temperature

2

:

This value is entered by the operator and is the temperature
at which OPERATOR DENSITY 2 is valid.

Expansion

Coefficient

:

This value represents the change in density for each degree
Celsius change in temperature. The value is not used if OD
1 and 2 at REF.TEMP. 1 and 2 are used.

Cargo

type

:

CARGO TYPE displays the cargo category for the
different tanks. The cargo type is selected during the
PREPARE FOR ... sequence. Entering new cargo type in
the ValueTable may later change the API cargo type. In the
ValueTable "L" sets Linear, "Lu" sets Lubrication, "C" sets
Crude, "P" sets Product, “A” sets ASTM54b and "B" sets
Ballast type. This is easily performed from the Density
layer in ValueTable.

Units

From

System menu select Units, or press

CTRL

-

F7

.

The Units menu has four predefined unit sets, two common SI and two
common US setups. Single units can also be specified here.

Show Codes will display a list of the unit codes that can be entered directly
into ValueTable columns, see page 54
